We just celebrated our 52nd Independence yesterday.Woohoo!
I hope all of you had a celebration you wont forget.
I know a few guys who definitely had a 52nd Merdeka Celebration they will never forget.This guys are the winners of the Homegrown Merdeka Indie Short Film and Song Composition Contest.
The winner for the song composition was Digital Licks(comprised of Chris Pareira and Jessel Yansalang) all the way from Sabah with their original song entitled “Forget Not” and the winner for the short film was Mohd Zulhelmie bin Zullifan with his video entitled “Satu Remaja,Satu Malaysia”.
The Homegrown Team chose them as the winners because we were impressed by their originality and how their entries were in line with the Merdeka message.
Not only did these guys win RM 3000 respectively but they were featured on 8tv Quickie’s Merdeka Edition on the 30th of August.They came on right after the countdown and boy they were happy.

All in all their experience with the Quickie team was awesome.Someone even joked, they went in as boys and came out as men.Haha!
