Homegrown Space featured the soft album launch of rock band Crossing Boundaries last Saturday. The Space was packed with friends and family from members of the band, all beaming with pride and ready to give their full support at the launch. The band of four performed ‘Thing’, ‘I’m Sorry’, ‘Sad Song’, ‘Header’ and ‘Goodbye, Goodnight’, five original songs from their new album. The crowd enjoyed the performance so much that they demanded for an encore and the band rocked their finale with a cover from the Foo Fighters ‘Everlong’.

Adding to the excitement of the gig, Alternative Rock band Free Deserters were invited to open for Crossing Boundaries. Both bands went all out and gave the crowd a performance that they will never forget.

Metal Mayhem
Sugin Charles | News | 07 28th, 2011| No Comments »

Homegrown Space head banged their way through last weekend with Metal Mayhem where three Metal bands performed.

The gig started off with a performance by the band Summer on September. Due to the absence of one of their vocalist and drummer, the band had to go acoustic that day. Performing three songs that included a Medley (Tonight I can’t sleep & The Tears), “Sandiwara” and “No More”, vocalist Lisa eased the audience into a sweet trance of their originality metal songs turned acoustic.

As the audience eased into metal moment, The Padangs then took the stage with a hardcore performance, performing “Waste No Time”, “No Mercy” and “Inertia”. Lead singer Jo wasted no time tearing up the stage whilst transporting the crowd into their own world of head banging.

Final metal band, Bannbodo took the stage by storm, performing “Incoming”, “I’m Your Enemy” and “Davidian”. With Migo on the guitar and taking the mic in hand, the band rocked their way through their set, hair being whipped back and forth, ending the gig and leaving the crowd in a trance of hardcore metal.

If you like your music loud and wanted to rock it out with three awesome metal bands, Homegrown Space was the place to be last Saturday.

Vials, the unique band of seven members hit Homegrown Space on the 16 of July, giving the audience a taste of their sweet Brit Indie tracks.

Armed with their guitars, keyboards, bass, drums and violin, the band gave an outstanding performance, performing five of their originals songs that included “False Alarm”, “Venus”, “Save Myself” and “Lethologica”. The band also performed their first single “Warbstract”.

Vials started off with the name ‘Scarlet Gallery’ but changed it in 2005 when the music genre of the band kicked-off to a different direction.

For those of you who just love kick back with good Indie music, you definitely missed the chance to tune your ears to Vials.
